BRIEF PRESENTATION  

The Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Voion was founded in 2005 in the Region of Western Macedonia and has 150 members, farmers from the wider region of Voion. It serves 1.300 producers in the province of Voion annually, operating as a Farmers Service Center. In addition, the Cooperative is also active in the cereal sector. The Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Voion has an organized cheese factory with EU standards which has been operating since 2014, producing certified cheese products  by Agrocert (PDO feta cheese – PDO batzo cheese – goat cheese – smoked cheese – graviera – mizithra – cream cheese), implementing a H.A.C.C.P. system for the assurance and hygiene of food and the quality of milk is constantly controlled by the State Organization Hellenic Milk Organization. 

 

ROLE IN PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION  

The Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Voion has designated specific member-producers, who apply the NON ANTIBIOTIC CERT Standard in their livestock farms (sheep and goats). The Standard is also applied to the cheese factory facilities, in order to produce certified – labeled dairy and cheese products. Finally, it provides the samples for analysis and the final products that participate in the exhibitions.
