SUMMARY PRESENTATION
The E.K.E. (ELKE) at AUTh implements research, educational, and demonstration programs across a broad range of Food Technology and Hygiene subjects, from production–primary sector to processing–secondary sector of agricultural and livestock products – food products, among other areas. Additionally, it contributes to the transfer and application of modern know-how and provides technical support to farmers and processors, among others, through educational and lifelong learning activities.
ROLE IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT
The Laboratory of Food Hygiene (Animal Origin) – Veterinary Public Health, taking into account the major veterinary problems faced by the participating breeding enterprises of the Producing Bodies, conducts the following studies / measurements: microbiological analyses, including enumeration of resistant bacteria (presumptive ESBL E. coli) and antibiotic measurements using the Star method [STAR PROTOCOL – Screening test for antibiotic residues by inhibitory method (EN) Jul 2011 BIO/PTC/15.AN v7] according to EU-RL Anses-Fougres. It also participates in conferences and workshops to disseminate the results and enriches the supportive website with new data.
