BRIEF PRESENTATION
The Certification Body GMCert – Green Mediterranean Certification was founded in 2008. It is a recognized Organization for Control and Certification of Organic Agriculture Products by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food of Greece, whose operation was approved by Ministerial Decision published in Official Gazette 1722/Β’/03.11.2010 with Approval Code GR-BIO-10 and owns No. 673 CERTIFICATE OF ACCREDITATION from the National Accreditation System for implementing ELOT EN ISO/IEC 17065:2012 Standard. GMCert has developed the NON ANTIBIOTIC CERT Standard, the application of which is implemented in the specific Project.
ROLE IN PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
GMCert as Project Coordinator has designated the Coordinator (person) and takes over the Certification of the NON ANTIBIOTIC CERT in the selected animal farms of the participating Producer Bodies and in the produced livestock products. It carries out the necessary checks on the breeding and processing – standardization units of the products, carries out the necessary sampling, sends the samples to the collaborating Research Institutes and, if all the requirements of the Standard are met, issues the Certificate and the license to use the mark. It undertakes the construction of a supporting website, the creation of a DVD and the dissemination of the results on social media, the brochures’ and forms’ publication and the organization of a NON ANTIBIOTIC CERT seminar-meeting.
